Our teacher Dave Capes was taught how to make these tongs by a Journeyman smith who visited him from Germany and he passed on that knowledge to us. On the last anniversary of his death I made this pair in his memory.
We were recently commissioned by the Holkham Estate to make a series of House signs for a small farm building redevelopment.
A gate with side panels we made a number of years ago for a house in Essex. The owners sold it and moved the gate to their new home in North Norfolk where we got to see it all over again!
